I'm Joe, a photographer in Great Neck, Long Island. I shoot interiors, kitchens and baths, and real estate for designers, builders, and agents in Long Island and the city.

Photography found me at 20, when I started as an assistant to a magazine photographer. I worked on portraits, products, food, fashion, and beauty, and I learned most of what I know there: wait for the light, make sure what's in front of the lens is clean, and try more than one way before you settle. I'm particular about details, and I still work that way.

I also spent 15 years in brand design, which taught me to think about where a photo will end up. But the camera is where I started, and it's the part I love most.

Technology can do a lot now. It can't stand in a room, wait for the light, and decide what's worth showing. That part is still me.
